Reyes to the Disabled List......Again

ESPN's Adam Rubin reports that the decision to place Reyes on the disabled list will come today before the game.

If  Jose can not run which he isn't expected to, he will be placed on the DL  keeping him out of the All Star game as well as the Philly series after. "I didn't do anything today. ... Probably tomorrow I don't do anything, either," Reyes said after Wednesday's 5-3 win against the Dodgers.

Thanks Jose, you really came through for us. Never could stay healthy, could you?

Nick Evans is set to join the team later today.

Ike Davis Season Ending Surgery?

According to Metsblog Michael Baron, Ike could be done for the season.
This afternoon at Citi Field, Sandy Alderson spoke with reporters, and said Ike Davis‘ bone bruise is still present, and a cartilage issue has developed in his ankle. Alderson said it’s possible Davis could need microfracture surgery and if that’s the case, he would miss the remainder of the season. He will be re-evaluated in three weeks, and a determination will be made at that time. Davis was placed on the disabled list after twisting his ankle and suffering a bone bruise on a collision with David Wright in Denver last month. He has been wearing a protective boot and has not participated in baseball activities since the injury.

Parnell Placed on DL

According to Yahoo Sports, Bobby Parnell has been placed on the Mets 15 day disabled list. Parnell said that the tip of his right middle finger felt numb and because of that he is "having a hard time gripping the baseball." Parnell told reporters Wednesday that he thinks he may need to take aspirins for blood clotting in the finger. He pitched a scoreless third of an inning Tuesday but allowed all three of his inherited runs to score. Parnell wined that he was not getting any better and he wasn't helping the team by being out there. Bobby, You're a bum! Ray Ramirez, You're a bum too! Numb fingers? That didn't alarm anyone?

Can Cliff Lee Stay Healthy?

As Mets fan prepare for battle this season against rival Philadelphia, it’s time we take a clinical look at the latest Philly team addition, Cliff Lee.

Those of us who watched the 2010 World Series caught a glimpse of Cliff Lee’s pitching vulnerability. World Series MVP, Edgar Renteria spotted it as he hit the 3-run blast off of Lee that would make the SF Giants world champions.

The 32- year old left-hander is now entering his 10th career season in the majors. Lee has had three strained abdominal muscles since 2003. While he was with Seattle, early in the 2010 season, Lee was sidelined with a strained abdomen that caused him to miss the first weeks of the season while placed on the 15 day disabled list. The two additional injuries happened in spring training when he was with Cleveland and put Lee out for six weeks.
