Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports, New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is narrowing the field on possible destinations for outfielder Carlos Beltran, sources said Wednesday.
By Wednesday evening, the day after Alderson provided him with a short list of interested teams he believed could fulfill the Mets’ wishes and provide Beltran another shot at the post-season.
Beltran had not ruled out any of those clubs, believed to be the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Brewers and, perhaps, the New York Yankees.

According to Yahoo Sports, Bobby Parnell has been placed on the Mets 15 day disabled list. Parnell said that the tip of his right middle finger felt numb and because of that he is "having a hard time gripping the baseball." Parnell told reporters Wednesday that he thinks he may need to take aspirins for blood clotting in the finger. He pitched a scoreless third of an inning Tuesday but allowed all three of his inherited runs to score. Parnell wined that he was not getting any better and he wasn't helping the team by being out there. Bobby, You're a bum! Ray Ramirez, You're a bum too! Numb fingers? That didn't alarm anyone?
