Matchup Report:
The Phillies coming into Citi Field has not been nice to them this season. Jon Niese has had some success against them, the Phillies combined have have batted only .250 (44 for 176) but some right handed hitters have given him fits. John Mayberry Jr. has batted .318 (7 for 22) with 3 HR's 7 RBI's, Polanco is batting .379, Ruiz is batting .357, and  Ex Met Ty Wigginton is batting .333 with one knocked out catcher (Thole).

METS NEWS AND NOTES:

FIVE WINS: With a win tonight, the Mets would be five games over .500 for the first time since losing to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 19, 2010 (49-44)...This is the fifth time the Mets have been four games over .500 (4-0, 6-2, 7-3, 13-9 and 17-13) this year...The last time the Mets won five in a row was July 25-29, 2011.

METS VS PHILLY: With wins on Monday and Tuesday, the Mets won their second series at Philadelphia this year...The Mets took two of three from the Phillies, April 13-15...The last time New York won two series at Philadelphia was in 2008...The last time the Mets swept a three-game series at Philadelphia was June 13-15, 2006...The Mets swept a three-game series from the Phillies at Citi Field May 26-27, 2010...After this series, the Mets only have one trip to Philadelphia remaining on the schedule, August 28-30...The Mets host the Phillies at Citi Field for the first time on May 28-30.

The Mets will have a fair shot at winning tonight as R.A. Dickey has given the Phillies fits in the past.  The Phillies have been batting a .224 Avg (28 for 125). Only Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schneider have had any success against Dickey.. both are batting combined .412 off R.A.
