The Scouting Book on RHP Vic Black

Victor Black / RHP, PIT
Born 5/23/1988 (25 yrs old)
Amarillo, TX, USA
School: Dallas Baptist
Height 6-4
Weight 210
Bats/Throws R/R

The Book on Vic Black:

A powerful righthander with genuinely filthy stuff, Pirate prospect Victor Black looks like a future closer, as long as he can throw his prime stuff with consistency. At AA Altoona in 2012, Black struck out an ungodly 85 batters in only 60 innings of work, wrapping up 38 games for the Curve and earning respect as one of the league's nastiest relievers. He's a fascinating option for the Pirates in 2014... and maybe even sooner than that.

The Scouting Book on 2B Dilson Herrera

Dilson Herrera / 2B, PIT
Born 3/3/1994 (19 yrs old)
Cartagena, Colombia

Height 5-11
Weight 160
Bats/Throws R/R

The Book on Herrera:

A powerful Colombian infielder who'll probably settle at second base, Pirate prospect Dilson Herrera rose to attention-worthy status by hitting his way out of Rookie ball (.281/341/.482) and into low-A at the age of 18. Herrera has a nice speed/power combination (twelve steals, eight dingers in sixty games) and decent enough foot and glovework to cover shortstop if necessary. He's raw, like any teenage player, but he shows a strong work ethic and natural aptitude for the trials of the middle infield. If his power is legitimate, he'll be a fast-riser in the system.

Brad Emaus ranked #9 in MLB 2B Prospects for 2011

Brad Emaus was listed in The Scouting Book's 22 Best  MLB 2B Prospects for 2011:

NYM 9. Brad Emaus 2B, NYM (#227 overall)
 Born 3/28/1986 (24 years old)

A polished infield prospect via Tulane, Brad Emaus projects as a solid-average major league second baseman in the near future. He spent most of 2010 idling in AAA, slashing .298/.395/.495 (with 25 doubles and 8/10 steals) as a 24 year old, which means he should really receive MLB duty in 2011. Left unprotected by the Blue Jays in the December Rule V Draft (2010), he'll try to stick on the Mets bench for 2011.

Check out the rest at the Scouting Book

From what I seen so far this spring, I believe Brad Emaus can be just as good as Dan Uggla with a better glove and OBP (On Base Pct.). Be a nice platoon between him and Murphy..
