Mets players skeptical about Ryan Braun's claims that he did not use perfomance enhancing drugs

According to the NY Daily News, deep skepticism about Ryan Braun's claims  that he did not use performance-enhancing drugs pervaded the Mets clubhouse on Friday.

"Ryan Braun is out there saying this shows he is innocent," one Met said. "Does that mean O.J. Simpson is innocent, too?"

Although disagreement between their union and league about Braun left players feeling awkward discussing the issue publicly, many in the Mets' clubhouse were uncomfortable with the N.L. MVP's successful appeal of a 50-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

"Oh, wow," a Mets player said on Friday, after hearing of Braun's chain-of-custody explanation. "That was his defense? Now every positive test is going to be challenged. That could be a mess."

Added a third player: "What a joke."

Another Met said: "Seems like he's guilty."

When it was mentioned to another player that Braun did not have the muscled look of the prototypical steroid user, the player said, "Yeah, but looks can be deceiving. You never know from looking at guys if they are doing something."
