The New York Mets are still looking for a possible suitor for Ike Davis. Many Mets Fans like myself have been waiting to exhale to see where Ike Davis lands.
The Pittsburgh Pirates have talked to the Mets according to Travis Sawchik of Triblive Sports. The Mets are holding out for a prospect pitcher, in this case they are looking at RHP Nick Kingham who is their ninth best prospect overall. The Pirates also have interest in Texas 1B/DH Mitch Moreland, who according to reports is not being moved at this point. The Pirates want to platoon Davis with veteran 1B Gaby Sanchez.
The Milwaukee Brewers are also still in the hunt for a first basemen as well. During the Winter Meetings, it came apparent that it was only a amount of time when Davis was going to become a Brewer. Now that seems uncertain. The Mets wanted pitching prospect RHP Tyler Thornburg from the Brew Crew , but were turned down. The Brewers have plans to use him in their 2014 rotation and make him their fifth starter..
Sandy Alderson suggested he would be looking for an equivalent return to what others have received for trading first basemen. The Marlins got 23-year-old Carter Capps from the Mariners for Logan Morrison last week.
So right now the ball is in the court of the Brewers and Pirates and who will pay for him with a pitching prospect.

The Rays and Brewers both had interest in 1B Logan Morrison which now could leave them open to trading for Mets 1B Ike Davis. The Rays could also turn to Texas 1B Mitch Moreland who has been blocked of playing time with the acquisition of Prince Fielder.
