Preview:

The Mets are looking for their first win at home vs the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets will send Jenrry Mejia on the hill. The Current Reds that have seen him are batting .500 (3 for 6), only 5 batters. Mejia was struck off his forearm in his last start in the spring. Mets waiting to see how he reacts..

The Mets look to get the offensive machine going. Lucas Duda expected in the lineup is batting .667 vs Leake.  Daniel Murphy and David Wright are tied for AB's against Leake (15). Murphy and Wright batting .200 against Leake.

In Game three the Mets will face tough RHP Mat Latos, who has had the Mets number in the past.
The Mets are only batting a meager .217 (13 for 60) off Latos. The Mets will have their work cut out for them... Daniel Murphy , who is second on the Mets in AB's vs Latos  batting .333 (3 for 9). David Wright  who leads the team in AB's vs Latos is batting .182 (2 for 11) with 5 K's.

Reds trying to land Jose Reyes?

According to Alex Apple of  The Big Red Machine, Several insiders have reported that the Reds have discussed what it would take to land Jose Reyes from the Mets. Apple to this point is unsure how far the talks have progressed and whether the talks are still going on.

However Apple explains, a deal for Reyes would make sense for both teams. The Reds need a leadoff hitter and could look to upgrade over Paul Janish at shortstop. The Mets, on the other hand, are looking for pitching and some depth for their depleted minor league system.

So what would a package for Jose Reyes look like and would Walt Jocketty bite?

Apple says the Reds would almost certainly have to give up either Mike Leake, Travis Wood or Homer Bailey. And in addition, the Mets could be looking for two more prospects, one a top tier prospect and another lower level prospect. There has been much discussion regarding which of the three starting pitchers listed above would be most likely to be traded. Leake, I believe, would probably be Walt Jocketty’s last choice with Wood or Bailey going before him.
