According to Adam Rubin of Espn, Mets management have come to their senses and have demoted Oliver Perez to the competition for a bullpen spot. Sandy Alderson, Terry Collins and pitching coach Dan Warthen met yesterday and have decided to take Ollie out of the running to be a starting pitcher.
Perez surrendered 3 runs off of 4 hits and 2 walks in Tuesdays game against the Houston Astros.
An unidentified informant from the Mets organization has stated that "there are no set appearances after Perez will be released."
Looks like the Mets are packing Ollies bag full of money, $12 million to be exact, and sending him on his way.
