Mets Looking to Acquire Another Ex-Brewer?

“We’re looking for starting pitching, we’re looking for left-handed relief and fourth and fifth outfielder possibilities - I’d say in that order of priority” – New York Mets GM Sandy Alderson in an interview with ESPN’s Adam Rubin.
Mets fans already know about the need to acquire another arm to compete in the starting rotation, especially with our ace Johan Santana gone until at least the All-Star break.
After signing Chris Capuano last week, Alderson has stated this will not hinder the team from acquiring another reliable arm and word around the MLB rumor mill is the Mets have their eyes set on former Blue Jay and Brewer Dave Bush.

Mets trying to add starter depth, interested in Dave Bush

Dave Bush is among the starting pitchers on the Mets' radar, according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick (on Twitter). As Crasnick notes, current Mets exec J.P. Ricciardi was the Blue Jays' GM when Toronto selected Bush in the second round of the 2002 draft.

The Rockies reportedly had interest in Bush earlier in the offseason, but the market for the right-hander has been remarkably quiet this winter.

Bush 31, was 8-13 with a 4.54 ERA for the Brew Crew. He was durable in 2010 with 31 starts and 174 Innings pitched.
