Recap:

Bryce Harper finished 2-for-4 and drove in a run as Washington shut down the Mets by a 4-0 count in both clubs' Grapefruit League finales.

Jose Lobaton and Jordan Zimmermann also knocked in a run apiece for the Nationals, while Denard Span collected three hits and scored once.

Washington hosts Detroit in America's capital on Saturday.

Zimmermann picked up the win after allowing just four hits over five scoreless frames, fanning three.

Eric Young went 3-for-4 and Ike Davis contributed a pair of hits in defeat for New York, which takes on Toronto in Montreal on Friday.

Recap:


Bryce Harper smacked a three-run home run to highlight a five-run third inning as the Washington Nationals downed the New York Mets, 7-3, in Grapefruit League play from Space Coast Stadium.

Stephen Strasburg got his final spring training start before his Opening Day assignment, also against the Mets, and allowed three runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Ryan Zimmerman also homered and Denard Span went 3-for-4 for the Nationals.

Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and allowed five runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings, striking out one and walking three.

Recap:

Daisuke Matsuzaka tossed six solid innings and Daniel Murphy delivered a two-run double in the New York Mets' 5-3 Grapefruit League win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Matsuzaka held the Cardinals to just one run on three hits while striking out five, with Murphy finishing 2-for-3 at the plate to pace the offense. Curtis Granderson drove a run with a sac fly. Travis d'Arnaud and Omar Quintanilla drove in a run apiece with a RBI singles.

Vic Black, who looked erratic... Came in the 7th  - did not record an out, gave up two hits, 2 runs, and was credited with 1 wild pitch (that scored a Cardinal run).

Shelby Miller was touched for three runs while fanning four and walking three over five innings for St. Louis, while Shane Robinson went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the loss.

Recap:

Curtis Granderson's two-run homer in the seventh inning snapped a tie and lifted the New York Mets to a 3-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday.

The homer, Granderson's third in his first spring training with the Mets, came off Drew Storen and scored pinch-runner Eric Campbell after David Wright drew a leadoff walk.

Washington's Ryan Zimmerman and New York's Andrew Brown had RBI singles in the game.

Nationals starter Tanner Roark struck out five and gave up one run in 5 2/3 innings. Mets starter Jenrry Mejia went five frames, fanning six and allowing a run.

Justin Upton hit a solo home run that helped the Atlanta Braves to a 4-1 win over the New York Mets in Grapefruit League action.

Freddy Garcia hurled 5 1/3 innings for Atlanta, striking out four and giving up one unearned run. Freddie Freeman went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Chris Johnson and Steven Lerud picked up an RBI apiece.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis knocked in the Mets' only run on a fielder's choice, as the team could only muster two hits. Carlos Torres gave up two runs on six hits over four innings of work.

Recap:

Taylor Teagarden capped a seven-run first inning with a two-run homer off Minnesota starter Ricky Nolasco and the New York Mets rode the early outburst to a 9-1 Grapefruit League win over the Twins.

Ike Davis (3 for 3) began the barrage with a two-run double and scored on Andrew Brown's double. Zach Lutz hit an RBI single and scored on Kirk Nieuwenhuis' triple before Teagarden homered to left field.

Nolasco did keep the Mets off the board in his two final innings of work.

New York starter Dillon Gee gave up a run on five hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Lucas Duda belted a two-run shot in the fourth for the Mets.

Anthony Recker blasted a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the New York Mets over the Atlanta Braves, 7-6, in Grapefruit League action at Tradition Field.

Ruben Tejada went 3-for-3 with an RBI and starter Zack Wheeler tossed 5 1/3 solid innings for the Mets. Wheeler allowed two runs on five hits, striking out two and walking one.

Ervin Santana made his Braves debut, starting and allowing one run on two hits over two innings.

Ernesto Mejia homered for Atlanta, which got two hits apiece from brothers B.J. and Justin Upton.
