Mets News: New Met Chris Young thinks 2014 Mets Outfield can be one of the Best

Mets News:

The Mets outfield is crowded with many guys that can play centerfield...

Terry Collins has not made any clues about who will get that role or what the composition of the outfield will be. Chris Young and Curtis Granderson are assured of everyday roles but Eric Young Jr. and Juan Lagares are battling for the third starting job.

"I don’t know where everybody is going to be," Collins said. "Again, there’s a lot of things happening between now and April 1st. I told Curtis the one thing you gotta do is get used to right field a little bit…We got four guys right now that can go catch it."

However it plays out, Young is confident the Mets' outfield can be among the best.

"I think we can be one of the best in baseball in the outfield," he said. "You’re talking about guys with a lot of experience out there, a lot of speed, guys with good arms."

Commentary: Please, No Choo in 2014 Mets Outfield

Commentary:

First off, Hunter Pence will remain with the San Francisco Giants on a five-year, $90 million deal. I think he would of been ideal in a Mets uniform. We can dream...

Now that Pence is off the board, Scott Boras has other clients who happen to play the outfield and are free agents,  namely Shin-Soo Choo and Jacoby Ellsbury.

According to Adam Rubin of ESPN NY, the Mets are believed to be only interested in Choo. And they are unlikely to bid more than the deal that Boras obtained for Michael Bourn last offseason (four years).

According to CBS writer Jon Heyman, Shin-Soo Choo could get $90 million to $100 million via the free-agent market this winter.

But is this guy really worth it? No Way!!! This Guy averages 146 K's in the lead-off slot. Not what the Mets need.
