2014 MLB Free Agents, some that might help the Mets

Ellsbury next Met threat?
2014 MLB Free Agents - Thanks to

Looking at scarce free agent market there are some names that can help the Mets and make some impact.

If the Mets wanted to get creative and gets some power from the Catcher position. Jarrod Saltalamacchia might be a interesting option for the Mets. He will only be 29 next season, hits for Avg and has some pop. Brian McCann could give the Mets some valuable leadership to the Mets clubhouse. His bat when healthy can be as go as any. He will be 30 next season..

The need power and must find if Ike Davis is the answer. The carousel at 1B also has Lucas Duda and Josh Satin in the mix. My Guess is they will let some of these battle for 1b. But there are some interesting names one that popped at me was Mike Morse. This guy has some serious power and coming off a down year.

Other than that, in the outfield Jacoby Ellsbury will be a wanted man in flushing. His leadoff production and speed will set the Mets up for more runs. Curtis Granderson could be another good option, he does know New York and hit for power.

If the Mets need starters I have often said that I like Tim Lincecum or Josh Johnson on down years.

Bullpen will mostly need a upgrade especially a setup man to get to Parnell.
