Mets Minor League Roundup 8/14: Guillorme's Four Hits Leads Binghamton Past Erie


Mets AAA - El Paso 10, Las Vegas 7: Franchy Cordero had three hits and two RBI as the El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the Las Vegas 51s 10-7 on Monday. Kevin Quackenbush got Phillip Evans to ground out with the bases loaded to end the game for his first save of the season. Down 5-2 in the third, Las Vegas tied the game when Jayce Boyd hit an RBI single and then scored on a two-run double by Cody Decker. El Paso answered in the bottom of the inning when Dillon Overton hit a two-run double. The Chihuahuas later added two runs in the fourth and one in the sixth. In the fourth, Ryan Schimpf hit a two-run home run before he singled to score Chase d'Arnaud in the sixth. El Paso starter Overton (5-5) picked up the win despite allowing five runs and five hits over five innings. Opposing starter Jonathan Albaladejo (1-2) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after a rough outing in which he allowed nine runs and 11 hits over four innings. Boyd tripled and singled twice, scoring two runs for the 51s. Decker doubled twice and singled, driving home three runs. BOX

Mets AA - Binghamton 10, Erie 6: Luis Guillorme had four hits, while Patrick Mazeika and Patrick Biondi recorded three apiece as the Binghamton Rumble Ponies beat the Erie SeaWolves 10-6 on Monday. Guillorme doubled and singled three times, driving in two runs. Mazeika doubled twice and singled, driving in a run and also scoring one. Down 4-0 in the second, Erie cut into the lead when it put up three runs on home runs by Grayson Greiner, Christin Stewart, and A.J. Simcox. Binghamton answered in the top of the next frame when Biondi hit a two-run double. Tyler Bashlor (2-0) got the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Erie starter A.J. Ladwig (7-5) took the loss in the Eastern League game. The five extra-base hits for Binghamton included a season-high five doubles. Greiner homered and singled for the SeaWolves. BOX

Mets A (ADV) - St. Lucie 12, Clearwater 7: Michael Paez doubled and singled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one as the St. Lucie Mets topped the Clearwater Threshers 12-7 on Monday. Peter Alonso homered and singled with two RBIs for St. Lucie. St. Lucie started the scoring in the first inning when Alonso hit a solo home run. The Mets later added eight runs in the fourth and three in the sixth. In the fourth, Jeff McNeil and Tim Tebow hit two-run singles, while Alonso drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring J.C. Rodriguez in the sixth. St. Lucie right-hander Andrew Church (9-8) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Seranthony Dominguez (3-3) took the loss in the Florida State League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and nine hits over 3 2/3 innings. St. Lucie took advantage of some erratic Clearwater pitching, drawing a season-high 10 walks in its victory. Wilson Garcia homered and singled three times, scoring a pair of runs while also driving home a couple for the Threshers. With the win, St. Lucie improved to 5-2 against Clearwater this season. BOX
