Travis d'Arnaud opened up the Mets scoring in the fourth with a solo shot to left. The Mets had a six-run eighth inning lead by a RBI double by Phillip Evans. Then Dominic Smith singled in a run, followed by an L.J. Mazzilli two-run homer. Champ Stuart singled in a run and a run-scoring passed ball capped the inning. Mets eventually scored one more on a walk-in RBI in the ninth. Mets had a total of thirteen hits, two each by Phillip Evans and Luis Guillorme. On the pitching side, Rafael Montero finally gave up his first earned run this spring. Josh Smoker gave up the other earned run in the contest.
