Mets Minor League Roundup 8/27: Syndergaard pitches well, Plawecki hits 2 HRs in Vegas Win
Mets AAA - LAS VEGAS 8, ROUND ROCK 3 : Noah Syndergaard pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, allowing one run on seven hits with a walk and nine strikeouts. Syndergaard lowered his ERA to 4.67. Catcher Kevin Plawecki hit two home runs, finished 4 for 4. Matt Reynolds contributed three RBIs for Las Vegas and Daniel Muno scored two runs. Box
Mets AA - NEW BRITAIN 11, BINGHAMTON 7 (11 inn.): Closer Cody Satterwhite gave up two game-tying runs in the ninth inning, and Adam Kolarek allowed five in the 11th. First baseman Jayce Boyd had a big night for the B-Mets, falling a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. Center fielder Brandon Nimmo and right fielder Travis Taijeron also had three hits apiece. Mets High A - ST. LUCIE 4, CHARLOTTE 3: The Mets scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth on a routine ground ball that should have ended the game. L.J. Mazzilli hit the grounder to third base, where it went between Patrick Leonard's legs and ended up in left field, allowing both runs to score. An earlier error by Mazzilli had allowed the Stone Crabs to tie the game in the sixth inning. Shortstop Gavin Cecchini had three hits for the Mets. Box.
Mets Low A - AUGUSTA 5, SAVANNAH 4: The Sand Gnats lost their seventh straight game, despite a four-run rally in the eighth inning. Shortstop Yeixon Ruiz had three hits, but also committed his 26th error of the season. Box.
Mets A - SS - BROOKLYN 3, STATEN ISLAND 2 (11 inn.): Amed Rosario was hit by a Matt Wotherspoon pitch with the bases loaded to force in the winning run. First-round draft pick Michael Conforto had two doubles and two singles to raise his average to .338. Starter Scarlyn Reyes allowed just one earned run on three hits in seven innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. Box.
Mets RK - ELIZABETHTON 9, KINGSPORT 8 (10 inn.): Third baseman Eudor Garcia's throwing error allowed the winning run to score in the 10th, after Kingsport had tied the game with four unearned runs in the ninth. Right fielder Wuilmer Becerra tied the game with a two-run triple, then was thrown out trying to steal home to end the inning. Box.
Mets RK - GCL METS 7, GCL MARLINS 5: Center fielder Raphael Ramirez and right fielder Emmanuel Zabala had three hits apiece. The Mets had 12 hits, all singles. Starter Erik Manoah allowed just one hit in five shutout innings, with nine strikeouts. Box.
