Mets Minor League Roundup 8/12:


Mets AAA - LAS VEGAS 6, IOWA 5: Noah Syndergaard allowed three runs in 6 1/3 innings and left with a lead, but the 51s couldn't hold it and needed to score a ninth-inning run to win. Josh Satin's one-out double in the ninth brought home the winning run. Syndergaard allowed five hits, walked two and hit a batter, and had eight strikeouts. Syndergaard held top Cubs prospect Kris Bryant to an infield hit in three at-bats, but Bryant homered off Chase Bradford in the eighth. Felix Doubront, who began the season with the Red Sox but was traded to the Cubs in late July, started for Iowa. Box

Mets AA - ERIE at BINGHAMTON (ppd.)

Mets High A - ST. LUCIE 8, FORT MYERS 6; ST. LUCIE 6, FORT MYERS 5: Cole Frenzel's double broke a ninth-inning tie and gave the Mets a win in the completion of a suspended game from June 26. Right fielder Eudy Pina hit two home runs for the Mets, who had 14 hits. Shortstop Gavin Cecchini hit a first-inning grand slam in the regularly-scheduled game, and the Mets held on for another win. Designated hitter L.J. Mazzilli had three hits and drove in two runs. Starter Seth Lugo allowed five runs in five innings, and Paul Sewald was perfect in two innings for a six-out save. Mets Low A - ASHEVILLE 3, SAVANNAH 2: Starter Robert Whalen carried a shutout into the eighth inning, but he gave up three runs in the eighth and was charged with his first loss after beginning the season with seven straight wins. The Sand Gnats scored their two runs in the second inning, on a Yeixon Ruiz sacrifice fly and a Champ Stuart single. Box

Mets RK - KINGSPORT 8, JOHNSON CITY 7: Right fielder Wuilmer Becerra and designated hitter Vicente Lupo both homered in a four-run eighth inning, and David Roseboom stranded the tying run at third base in the ninth. Center fielder Ivan Wilson hit a three-run home run. Box

Mets A - SS - LOWELL at BROOKLYN (ppd.)

Mets RK - GCL METS 4, GCL NATIONALS 1: Center fielder Raphael Ramirez had a double and two singles for the Mets. Designated hitter Dash Winningham drove in three of the four runs on a bases-loaded double in the third inning. Five Mets pitchers combined to allow one run on seven hits. Box
