Mets Minor League Roundup 8/1: Herrera and Nimmo lead Binghamton to victory, Syndergaard Sharp for Vegas

Mets Minor League Roundup 8/1:

Mets AAA - EL PASO 4, LAS VEGAS 3 (10 innings): Noah Syndergaard had his third straight strong outing for the 51s, throwing six scoreless innings while allowing eight hits, with no walks and seven strikeouts. Syndergaard has allowed one earned run in 17 1/3 innings over the last three starts, with five walks and 20 strikeouts. Allan Dykstra's eighth-inning solo homer evened the score at 2. The Chihuahuas plated two runs in the top of the 10th against Erik Goeddel. Kirk Nieuwenhuis had a two-out sacrifice fly in the bottom half, but the 51s left the tying run at first base when Andrew Brown grounded into a fielder's choice. Box

Mets AA - BINGHAMTON 9, BOWIE 8: Dilson Herrera's run-scoring triple brought home Brandon Nimmo to tie the score in the bottom of the ninth. Herrera then scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch. Nimmo and Herrera each reached base three times for the B-Mets, who had 16 hits. Brian Burgamy, Travis Taijeron and Jayce Boyd homered for the B-Mets, who rallied from 4-0 and 8-6 deficits despite going 3-for-18 with runners in scoring position. Starter Gabriel Ynoa gave up six runs in four innings. Box

Mets High A - ST. LUCIE 8, CLEARWATER 3: Jeremy Hefner, on his way back from Tommy John surgery, allowed two runs on two hits in four innings in his second Florida State League start after previously pitching in the Gulf Coast League. Jared King doubled and homered, while Jeff McNeil had a double and a triple. Mark Leiter Jr., whose father pitched in the major leagues and whose uncle Al Leiter pitched for the Mets, started the game for Clearwater and took the loss. Box

ELIZABETHTON 3, KINGSPORT 1: Right-hander Andrew Church, the Mets' second-round draft pick in 2013, threw a four-hit seven-inning shutout in the first game of a doubleheader. Luis Guillorme scored the game's only run on a first-inning double play. Wuilmer Becerra had two of the Mets' six hits in the nightcap. Andrew Massie gave up three runs (one earned) in 4 1/3 innings. Mets A - SS - BROOKLYN 4, AUBURN 3: Amed Rosario's two-out single completed a two-run ninth-inning rally to give the Cyclones the win. John Mora's sacrifice fly tied the score for the Cyclones, after Auburn took the lead with a home run against Luis Rengel in the top of the ninth. Jhoan Urena drove in two runs for Brooklyn. Box

Mets RK - GCL METS 8, GCL NATIONALS 5: Right fielder Hengelbert Rojas drove in three runs, and catcher Natanael Ramos drove in two. Ramos, outfielder Enmanuel Zabala and shortstop Milton Ramos each had two hits. Starter Adrian Almeida allowed one run on two hits in five innings. Box
