Mets Minor League Roundup  7/24:


Mets AAA - TACOMA 5, LAS VEGAS 4: Daniel Muno produced a ninth-inning sacrifice fly to pull the 51s within a run against Todd Coffey, but the Mets left pinch runner Cesar Puello on first base when Juan Centeno lined out. Brandon Allen's two-run homer in the fourth had staked Vegas to a 3-1 lead. The Rainiers scored four sixth-inning runs against starter Logan Verrett. Zack Thornton contributed two scoreless relief innings. Box

Mets AA - TRENTON 6, BINGHAMTON 5: Jack Leathersich surrendered three seventh-inning runs as the Thunder overcame a two-run deficit. Starter Tyler Pill allowed three runs in six innings. Brandon Nimmo went 3-for-5 with two doubles in the loss. Jayce Boyd drove in two runs. T.J. Rivera finished 3-for-4. Rivera's RBI single in the top of the seventh had staked the B-Mets to a 5-3 lead. Mets High A - ST. LUCIE at DAYTONA (ppd.): The teams will play a 5:05 p.m. doubleheader Friday.

Mets Low A - SAVANNAH 2, AUGUSTA 1: Colton Plaia produced a one-out solo homer in the top of the ninth to break a 1-all tie. Akeel Morris pitched a perfect bottom half for his 10th save. The Gnats had pulled even in the sixth on Victor Cruzado's run-scoring triple. Starter Logan Taylor surrendered only a solo homer Tyler Horan in six innings in a no-decision. Dario Alvarez improved to 7-0 with two perfect relief innings that included three strikeouts. Gnats pitching coach Marc Valdes was ejected in the seventh inning by plate umpire Jon Felczak. Box



Mets - RK - KINGSPORT 1, GREENEVILLE 0: Martires Arias limited the Astros to two hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings. He combined with Persio Reyes and David Roseboom on the shutout. The lone run came in the sixth inning on Ivan Wilson's one-out homer. Box

Mets A - SS - BROOKLYN 7, VERMONT 2: The Cyclones took advantage of an error to take a first-inning lead against Vermont starter Jose Torres. Amed Rosario hit a routine groundball to first baseman John Nogowski, who misfired throwing to Torres covering first. Rosario wound up on second. He scored when Jhoan Urena singled. Urena extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Michael Bernal made it 2-0 with a solo homer in the second. In the third, Rosario tripled and Urena plated him with a sacrifice fly. Brooklyn starter Scarlyn Reyes did not allow a baserunner until the fourth inning. Vermont produced two runs against Reyes in his fifth and final inning, but the Cyclones took control with a four-run seventh. Tomas Nido walked and advanced to third on Bernal's single. Will Fulmer contributed a sacrifice fly. Adrian Abreu plated Bernal. After Vermont reliever Michael Fagan intentionally walked Urena, Tucker Tharp scored on a passed ball. Aggressive baserunning by the Cyclones allowed Abreu to score from third when the Lake Monsters attempted to pick off Urena at second. Josh Prevost, Kelly Secrest and Paul Paez combined for four scoreless relief innings. Box

Mets RK - GCL METS 5, GCL MARLINS 3: Enmanuel Zabala had a tiebreaking RBI triple in the seventh and Dash Winningham followed with an RBI single to cap the scoring. Box
