Mets Minor League Roundup 6/2: Brown and Muno go deep in Vegas Win

Mets Minor League Roundup 6/2:

Mets AAA - LAS VEGAS 6, RENO 4: Andrew Brown and Daniel Muno contributed two-run homers. Starter Logan Verrett allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings. Verrett's fourth-inning RBI single broke a 2-all tie and the 51s never trailed again. Miguel Socolovich tossed two scoreless relief innings to earn his first save. Box

Mets High A - DAYTONA 3, ST. LUCIE 1: A ninth-inning rally by St. Lucie fell short when Phillip Evans struck out after Cubs reliever Michael Jensen walked Cam Maron to load the bases. Nathan Dorris needed only 78 pitches to shut down the Mets through 6 2/3 innings. He allowed a leadoff triple to Dilson Herrera in the first and T.J. Rivera’s sacrifice fly two batters later. Mets starter Michael Fulmer labored through five innings. He allowed two runs on eight hits, three walks a hit batter. Chad Krist put the Cubs on the board in the first on a bases-loaded single. Maikis De La Cruz threw out Zeke DeVoss at the plate on Krist’s hit to keep it 1-0. The Cubs broke the 1-all tie for good in the third. Dan Vogelbach led off with a double. With Vogelbach on third base and two outs, Jeimer Candelario hit a ball up the middle that was backhanded by T.J. Rivera. Rivera’s throw to first appeared to be on time, but the one-hopper could not be scooped by
Jairo Perez to end the inning. Vogelbach scored to make it 2-1. Fulmer ended up throwing 94 pitches. The Cubs picked up their final run in the sixth against Seth Lugo. Lugo plunked Gioskar Amaya to start the inning and threw a wild pitch to advance him to second. Later in the inning, with runners on first and second, DeVoss hit a grounder. Herrera threw to Rivera at second for one out, but Rivera’s turn to first on the double-play attempt was wide of Perez . The throwing error allowed Amaya to score. Gonzalez Germen pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a rehab appearance. He walked one and struck out two. Herrera and Rivera had four of the Mets' seven hits. Box

Mets A - ASHEVILLE 2, SAVANNAH 1 (10 innings): Asheville's Emerson Jimenez drove in Max White with a triple into the right-center gap in the top of the 10th against reliever Robert Coles. The Gnats (37-17) squandered the best start of the year by Chris Flexen, who struck out a season-high 10. Flexen allowed one run on three hits and a walk in seven innings. The Tourists scored their run against Flexen in the sixth, when 2012 first-round pick David Dahl singled home White. The Gnats tied the score in the seventh. Victor Cruzado doubled and scored on Stefan Sabol’s single. L.J. Mazzilli singled in the 10th inning to extend his hitting streak to 12 straight games. The Gnats put two runners aboard in the 10th, but could not get the game-tying run home. Box
