Mets News: Terry Collins says he expects Murphy back Wednesday, Davis and Duda possible to follow
According to a report from Adam Rubin of ESPN NY, Terry Collins expects Daniel Murphy to return to the Grapefruit League lineup on Wednesday, when the Mets host the St. Louis Cardinals at Tradition Field.
Rubin also iterates that Collins believes Lucas Duda and Ike Davis could be serving as designated hitters on a minor-league field as soon as Thursday.
Murphy has been hampered with a shin injury, Duda has been bothered by a left hamstring injury and Davis has been troubled by a right calf injury that has had him walking around in a boot to stabilize his injury.
Collins told ESPN:
“They did stuff inside today, some movement drills -- both Duda and Ike,” “We’re hoping that they do it again tomorrow. And then we’re hoping on Thursday maybe at least get them into minor-league camp and DH them.”
