Mets News: Matt Harvey will rehab in New York, For Now...
Mets Ace Matt Harvey will rehab in New York at Citi Field. According to multiple reports, Harvey met with Mets GM Sandy Alderson about the situatuion and they cleared the air on the topic.
The Mets still want Harvey to go down to Port St. Lucie when he is ready for game action and will do so when the time comes to face minor league hitters.
The Mets could not prevent Harvey from rehabbing in New York. The collective bargaining agreement specifies that the club can only require Harvey to rehab at the team's spring-training complex for a maximum of 20 days without his written consent.
Harvey wants to accompany the Mets on the road during the season as well, but that apparently will not be part of the agreement.
He is currently throwing on flat ground at 75 feet. Harvey could be on a mound for the first time since Tommy John surgery in June.
Harvey has made proclamations that he would return to the big stage in 2014. The Mets GM has been saying that Harvey will miss the entire 2014 season.
Let's see who's right, only time will tell.. LGM!
