Mets News: Jenrry Mejia OK, Results of X-Rays on Forearm Negative
Jenrry Mejia, who was struck by a liner on Friday night on his right forearm, took X-Rays and they came back negative.
According to reports, Pitching coach Dan Warthen also indicated the bunion on Mejia's right big toe was a non-issue Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Mets will announce their 25 man roster after the Spring Training Finale on Saturday..
The Mets should have Mejia and Daisuke Matsuzaka on their roster, but the status of Mejia's forearm will remain unclear to how it will respond. The Mets can option Mejia to the minors, but that would have Mejia come back 10 days later. Of Course, if he went on the DL it would be an additional five games (15 day DL).
Given the facts, Dice-K should get the Game 4 Start and Jon Niese should get the Game 6 start as he comes off the DL (barring any major setback). John Lannan provides backup as he can be the spot starter on that day.
