Mets News: Daniel Murphy has sore shin, will be day to day
Daniel Murphy is not participating in outdoor morning stretching with teammates Sunday, two days after an aggressive slide into second base resulted in a right-shin issue.
After Friday's game, Murphy had downplayed it as only a scrape.
"The only thing I can say is it's day-to-day right now," Murphy said. "I'm still like 25 percent on the way to my last year's quota of [spring-training] at-bats. So I'm at a pretty good pace right now. My leg's a little sore right now. It's just sore. It's tough to really describe."
Wilmer Flores instead is starting at second base Sunday.
