Mets News: Closer Bobby Parnell throws off mound, no problems
According to Adam Rubin of ESPN NY, Bobby Parnell who underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk threw off a mound Friday at the Mets spring-training complex for the first time since the procedure. No Problems were indicated on the report...
Parnell threw only 10 uneventful pitches. Those tosses came with the catcher in front of the plate.
According to Rubin, Collins said Parnell's session caught even the manager off guard, since Parnell had indicated he planned to wait an additional two weeks before proceeding with mound work.
Terry Collins also has mentioned , Parnell is his closer even with the signings of Jose Valverde and Kyle Farnsworth on minor-league deals.
