Mets News: Reliever Greg Burke signs minor league contract with Rockies

According to multiple sources, Reliever Greg Burke and the Rockies have agreed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The right-hander spurned an offer from the Mets after spending the 2013 season shuttling between the Mets and their Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas.

Burke, 31, compiled a 5.68 ERA in 32 appearances with the Mets and a 4.55 ERA in 31 games in Las Vegas, where he pitched in hitter-friendly ballparks in the Pacific Coast League, not unlike Coors Field in Denver. 

Burke, who was one of seventeen minor league players who hit the free agent market when they were not added to the Mets' 40-man roster.

That list includes:

RHP: Giancarlo Alvarado, Matt Fox, D.J. Mitchell, Dylan Owen, Armando Rodriguez, Daryl Thompson, Cory Wade
LHP: Justin Hampson
C: Jeyckol De Leon, Francisco Pena
1B: Rhyne Hughes
3B: Richard Lucas
SS: Brian Bixler, Brandon Hicks, Josh Rodriguez
OF: Jamie Hoffmann
