Mets News: David Wright expected back this weekend against Philly
According to ESPN, David Wright is unlikely to return from the disabled list during the current series against the Giants.
Wright is not ready to play, in part because he has soreness in non-injured areas from ramping up activity. Wright last played in a game Aug. 2, when he suffered a Grade 2 right hamstring strain.
Collins expects Wright to return as soon as this weekend in Philly, and definitely this season.
He has been unable to play in minor league rehab games, because those seasons have ended, so Wright instead has taken batting practice against bullpen coach Ricky Bones.
