LAS VEGAS 12, TACOMA 5: In what could be Zack Wheeler's final Triple-A start, the Mets' top pitching prospect gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings. Wheeler cruised early but fell apart in the fifth, allowing three runs to score before being pulled. Box.
BINGHAMTON 3, ALTOONA 2: Logan Verrett battled through six innings and Wilfredo Tovar provided an offensive spark from the bottom of the batting order as the Binghamton Mets defeated the Altoona Curve, 3-2, Friday night. Verrett collected his league-leading seventh victory. The B-Mets grabbed the lead in the third on an RBI groundout by Danny Muno. Altoona struck back in the fourth to take the lead.The B-Mets offered an immediate rebuttal in the fifth. Muno tied the game with double and scored the go-ahead run when Cesar Puello singled. Jeff Walters used a pair of strikeouts to side-step a leadoff single in the ninth for his league-leading 14th save. Verrett (7-2) allowed two runs while scattering nine hits over six innings of work. SAVANNAH 6, ROME 4: Savannah jumped out to an early lead en route to a 6-4 win. They led 5-0 after two thanks to RBIs from Maikis De La Cruz, Brandon Nimmo and Jayce Boyd. Matthew Koch pitched five innings of three-run ball to pick up the win and improve to 4-2. Bret Mitchell recorded his 10th save. Box.
