Mets Minor League Roundup 6/22: Mike Baxter HR's, Ike Davis goes hit-less for Vegas

Mets Minor League Roundup 6/22:

AAA - LAS VEGAS 4,  SALT LAKE 1: After being on a HR Rampage of late, Ike Davis only walked and scored a run in the second going officially 0 for 3. Rylan Sandoval was 2 for 4 with two doubles and a RBI. Mike Baxter hit a HR in the fifth, a solo shot. He is currently batting .233 for Veags. D.J. Mitchell the starter, got the win (4-3) going 5 innings, giving up 4 hits, 3 walks and striking out eight. Robert Carson got the Save (2) striking out one..  Vegas is  now (39-35) Box

AA - BINGHAMTON 6, ERIE 5 (10 innings): Binghamton (45-28) overcame a four-run deficit in the ninth, then enjoyed a walk-off winner an inning later. Josh Rodriguez's one-out double in the bottom of the 10th scored Darrell Ceciliani, who had walked and advanced to third on Wilfredo Tovar's single. Down 5-1 in the ninth, Allan Dykstra had an RBI double and Rhyne Hughes delivered a two-out, three-run homer. Tovar finished 3-for-4. Box

A+ - PALM BEACH 6, ST. LUCIE 5: With scheduled starter Noah Syndergaard promoted to Binghamton, Carlos Vazquez stepped in and allowed two runs in four innings. St. Lucie took a 4-1 lead with a four-run fourth that included a run-scoring triple by Dustin Lawley as well as RBI singles from Jayce Boyd and Charley Thurber. Estarlin Morel (4-3) suffered the loss in relief after allowing three sixth-inning runs. Boyd finished 2-for-4 and is hitting .538 through three A+ games. Boyd started the season with Savannah... A - LEXINGTON 2, SAVANNAH 0: Left-hander Steven Matz limited Lexington to two hits and three walks while striking out nine in six scoreless innings, but the Gnats were shut out. Julian Hilario surrendered a pair of eighth-inning runs that broke a scoreless tie. Phillip Evans and Chad Zurcher had two-out singles in the ninth, but Eudy Pina had a game-ending strikeout. Box

RK - JOHNSON CITY 8, KINGSPORT 1: Andrew Massie allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings in relief. Jeffrey Diehl's solo homer accounted for the lone run for the K-Mets (0-3). Box

SS - ABERDEEN 5, BROOKLYN 4 (10 innings): After the Cyclones (2-3) scored four ninth-inning runs to force extra innings, the IronBirds recovered. Brooklyn reliever David Wynn opened the 10th by walking Jared Breen. Breen stole second and scored the decisive run on Kristopher Richards' two-out single to center. Trailing 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, Gavin Cecchini, L.J. Mazzilli and Jared King had consecutive one-out singles to load the bases. Cecchini scored on a wild pitch and Jorge Rivero walked to reload the bases. A groundout and passed ball plated runs to pull the Cyclones within 4-3. Down to their final out, Colton Plaia delivered a game-tying RBI single. With Eris Peguero at third base, Anthony Chavez then struck out to end the inning tied at 4. Box

GCL NATIONALS 3, GCL METS 2: First-round pick Dominic Smith went 2-for-4 with an RBI and started at first base in his professional debut. Tim Byrdak, coming back from shoulder surgery, tossed a scoreless inning with one walk. Marcos Molina allowed two runs on three hits while striking out nine in 4 2/3 innings. Box
