Mets Minor League Roundup 6/20: Ike Davis goes 3 for 5 with 2 HR's for Vegas, Matt den Dekker goes 2 for 4 for St. Lucie, Brooklyn wins first


Mets Minor League Roundup 6/20:


AAA - LAS VEGAS 7, TUCSON 5:  A day after reaching base five times against Triple-A Tucson, Ike Davis homered twice and finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored Thursday night as Las Vegas beat the Sidewinders, 7-5. Davis has increased his Pacific Coast League average to .306 through 10 games.  Box

AA - BINGHAMTON 4, RICHMOND 3: The B-Mets scored the go-ahead run on a bases-loaded walk in the seventh as Phil McCormick’s free pass to Allan Dykstra plated Alonzo Harris. Binghamton (44-27) has won eight straight series. Trailing 1-0, the B-Mets clawed back against Richmond starter Chris Gloor in the third. Cory Mazzoni singled. Josh Rodriguez followed with a double and Dykstra walked to load the bases. With two outs, Richard Lucas drove in two runs. An inning later, Blake Forsythe reached when third baseman Adam Duvall failed to field a chopper. Forysthe ultimately scored on Gloor’s balk. Richmond took advantage of a B-Mets misplay to tie the score at 3 in the fourth. With two outs and a runner on second, Ryan Lollis rolled a grounder to shortstop Daniel Muno. The throw bounced past Dykstra at first base, allowing an unearned run to score. Richmond then tied the score on Mark Wagner's RBI single. In the seventh, Harris bunted for a single. Representing the go-ahead run, the speedy outfielder stole second. A parade of walks followed. Gloor was pulled after issuing a free pass to Muno. Scott Shuman entered and fanned Rodriguez before walking Travis Taijeron to load the bases. McCormick entered to face Dykstra and missed the outside corner on a 3-1 pitch, forcing in the go-ahead run. Mazzoni (3-2) struck out eight while allowing three runs (one earned) in six innings. He collected his first win since May 19. Jim Fuller made his Double-A debut, working around a one-out walk in a scoreless seventh. The southpaw also struck out Jarrett Parker to begin the eighth. Jeff Walters earned his league-leading 17th save. Box

A+ - ST. LUCIE 8, PALM BEACH 6: Newly promoted Kevin Plawecki belted a three-run homer in his first Florida State League at-bat and finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Jayce Boyd also went 2-for-5 and drove in a run in his FSL debut. St. Lucie starter Domingo Tapia allowed six runs on 11 hits and two walks in 5 1/3 innings. Trailing 6-5, Matt den Dekker scored on an error and Plawecki delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh. Den Dekker went 2-for-4 with a walk and scored twice in his fourth game since returning from a broken wrist. Box

A - SAVANNAH 5, LEXINGTON 1: Maikis De La Cruz drove in the tying run in the fifth with an RBI single. He then scored on an errant throw while stealing third as the Gnats improved to 44-26. Savannah starter Logan Taylor (1-1) allowed one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine in six innings. Hunter Carnevale and Beck Wheeler combined for three scoreless relief innings. R - JOHNSON CITY 9, KINGSPORT 3: K-Mets starter Martires Arias allowed five runs (three earned) in 1 2/3 innings as Kingsport lost its season opener. Jeffrey Diehl went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the loss. Box

BROOKLYN 3, ABERDEEN 0: John Gant limited Aberdeen to three hits and two walks while striking out six batters in five scoreless innings as the Cyclones (1-2) notched their first 2013 win. Gavin Cecchini walked with one out in the third and stole second base. L.J. Mazzilli drew a walk to put men on first and second. Jared King then doubled, scoring Cecchini and moving Mazzilli to third. Matthew Oberste grounded back to the pitcher and Mazzilli was thrown out at the plate for the second out. With two outs, Julio Concepcion hit a fly ball that was dropped by right fielder Manny Hernandez, scoring King for a 2-0 lead. Box
