Mets Minor League Roundup 5/31:

AAA - LAS VEGAS 7, RENO 0: D.J. Mitchell, Justin Hampson, Josh Edgin and David Aardsma combined on the shutout, despite allowing 10 hits and five walks. Jamie Hoffmann belted a grand slam and had five RBIs. Collin Cowgill had a solo homer while going 3-for-3 with a walk. Box

AA - NEW HAMPSHIRE 8, BINGHAMTON 7: B-Mets starter Logan Verrett surrendered a career-high eight runs on 11 hits, including a go-ahead grand slam by Adam Loewen in the sixth. Verrett (6-2) suffered in his first loss in his last five starts. Binghamton (31-24) had grabbed a 5-0 lead in the second against New Hampshire starter Deck McGuire. Cory Vaughn singled and Darrell Ceciliani doubled. Blake Forsythe then produced a run-scoring infield single. Richard Lucas added a two-run double. Wilfredo Tovar also doubled. Josh Rodriguez capped the rally and extended his hitting streak to 17 games with an RBI double. Verrett faltered in the fourth, surrendering a pair of runs on four hits and a hit batsman. Clint Robinson got New Hampshire on the board with an RBI single and Sean Ochinko delivered a two-out RBI double. The Fisher Cats tagged Verrett with more two-out offense in the fifth. The righty surrendered a double to Brian Van Kirk and was taken deep to right by Ryan Schimpf, cutting Binghamton’s lead to one. New Hampshire delivered the knockout blow in the sixth on Loewen's slam, which gave the Fisher Cats an 8-5 lead and chased Verrett. Binghamton’s offense finally awoke in the ninth after six hitless innings. Forsythe blasted an RBI double and scored on a pair of groundouts to cut New Hampshire’s lead to one. Tyson Brummett then battled back to retire Daniel Muno and earn his second save. Ryan Fraser made his season debut with the B-Mets and posted two scoreless relief innings. Jack Leathersich struck out the side in a perfect eighth. The last nine outs recorded by Leathersich spanning three appearances have been strikeouts. Box

A - SAVANNAH 6, KANNAPOLIS 2: Maikis De La Cruz's two-run homer in the third opened the scoring. Julian Hilario earned the win in relief of Jake Kuebler with three scoreless innings. Kuebler went four innings in his second start since relocating from the bullpen. De La Cruz finished 3-for-5 and scored twice for the Gnats (32-22). Box
