Assistant GM John Ricco said doctors found a mild strain of the flexor pronator in Frank Francisco's right elbow but nothing major during an examination in New York.
Francisco, who complained of elbow discomfort, will return to Port St. Lucie, Fla., and rest for 72 hours before attempting to resume throwing.
Francisco had been nearing a return from the DL when he was unable to throw a bullpen session Saturday.
