Mets Minor League Roundup 5/8:

Class AAA - ROUND ROCK 9, LAS VEGAS 5: Starter Carlos Torres got shelled, giving up nine runs on 10 hits in four innings of work. Relievers Dylan Owen, Sean Henn and Armando Rodriguez did combine for five innings of scoreless relief. Left fielder Brian Bixler and second baseman Wilmer Flores had two hits apiece for the 51s, who fell to 15-16 on the season. Third baseman Zach Lutz hit a three-run homer, and center fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis also homered. Box

Class AA - BINGHAMTON 3, TRENTON 1: Logan Verrett improved to 5-1 on the season (3.04 ERA), pitching 8 2/3 innings, giving up just one run on five hits, with nine strikeouts and just one walk. Right fielder Cesar Puello hit a pair of home runs, driving in all three of the Mets' runs on the night. He raised his average to .296 on the season, and now has a 15-game hitting streak -- the longest current streak in Double-A. Shortstop Wilfredo Tovar was 3-for-3. The B-Mets improve to 17-16. Box

Class A - ST. LUCIE 6, DAYTONA 5 (10 innings): Designated hitter Aderlin Rodriguez went 3-for-4, with a home run (No. 6 on the year) and three RBIs -- including a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th, as the Mets improved to 21-11. Second baseman T.J. Rivera, who scored the winning run, was 2-for-3 on the day. Shortstop Matt Reynolds and third baseman Robbie Shields also homered. Starter Alex Panteliodis threw five innings, giving up two runs on two hits. Frank Francisco, continuing his rehab assignment, pitched a scoreless ninth -- he walked two batters, but also struck out two. Box
