Mets closer Frank Francisco has surgery on right elbow
Mets Closer Frank Francisco underwent surgery Tuesday in New York to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.
Team doctor David Altchek performed the procedure. He should be cleared to throw in six weeks -- comfortably before spring training.
Francisco did not appear after Sept. 16 during the regular season because of what was labeled elbow tendinitis.
