Mets' top prospect Zack Wheeler allowed five runs on eight hits in five innings of work, Thursday night. Wheeler was throwing hard, and had pretty good command. He did not walk any batters, but did get hit hard. So far in Buffalo, Wheeler has been a little shaky. In three games started, he has allowed eight runs, with an ERA of 4.60. I have said all along there may be growing pains, and that is exactly what is happening. He is adjusting from Double-A to Triple-A, and some pitchers have trouble with that. Wheeler is such a highly touted prospect, and people are starting to panic because he is not dominating in Triple-A. People need to relax because greatness doesn't happen overnight. I am confident that he will figure things out quickly, and will show why he is a top prospect in all of baseball.
