STREAK AT FIVE: The Mets have won five in a row following a season-high four-game losing streak...The five-game winning streak is the longest active current streak in the majors and is the longest since the club won five straight from July 25-29, 2011.

SHOOTING FOR SIX: The Mets aim for their sixth straight win of the year tonight ...It would be New York’s longest winning streak since they also rattled off six consecutive wins from April 21-27, 2011...The last time the Mets were six games over .500 was after beating the Giants 4-3 in 10 innings in San Francisco on July 18, 2010 (49-43).

8,000 GAMES: The Mets will play their 8,000th regular season game in team history tonight...New York is 3,829-4,162 with eight ties all-time.

NEW BALLPARKS: The Mets will play their first game at Marlins Park tonight…Since 2000, the Mets are 7-6 in their first game in a new ballpark…New York posted victories in its very first game in new facilities in Houston (2000), Pittsburgh (2001), Cincinnati (2003), Philadelphia (2004), St. Louis (2006), Detroit (2007), and Washington’s Nationals Park (2008), while losing its first game at San Francisco (2000), Milwaukee (2001), San Diego (2004), Washington’s RFK Stadium (2005), and falling in its first game at Citi Field and the new Yankee Stadium...New York went 74-72 in the Marlins old ballpark.

RONNY CEDENO: Went 0-4 last night while playing nine innings at short for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League in a 4-3 win at Brevard County...Cedeno has been on the 15-Day DL since April 21 with a left intercostal strain.

CHRIS YOUNG: Tossed 5.0 scoreless innings last night for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League at Brevard County...He allowed five hits, two walks and had four strikeouts...It was his first professional start since undergoing surgery to repair a tear in the anterior capsule of his right shoulder on May 16, 2011.
