IF/OF Brandon Inge Released from Tigers

Slumping third baseman Brandon Inge was released by the Detroit Tigers on Thursday.

The 34-year-old Inge is in his 12th season in the majors, all with Detroit. He played mostly third base for the Tigers, but has also caught, played the outfield and second base.

Inge is a .234 career hitter with 140 homers and 589 RBIs.

I would love to see the Mets pick up Inge with the lack of outfielders the Mets have in depth. Inge is also versatile and could also serve as a emergency catcher and a backup David Wright at 3rd , Murphy at 2nd..
