Mets Officially Announce the Jon Rauch Signing

The Mets and right-handed reliever Jon Rauch have officially agreed to a one-year contract, the club announced Wednesday night.

Rauch, 33, appeared in 53 games with the Blue Jays last season, going 5-4 with 11 saves and a 4.85 ERA. He also struck out 36 batters and pitched at least one inning in 39 of his 53 appearances.

The 6-foot-10 righty will likely set up Frank Francisco, whom the Mets signed to a two-year, $12 million deal but have yet to officially announce.

Rauch, an eight-year veteran, is 39-31 with 58 saves and a 3.82 ERA in his career.

Since 2006, Rauch leads all relievers with 31 wins and his 434 appearances during that time are the second-most by a reliever.
