Mets News and Notes: Bullpen Implosion, Ugly Stats


Mets News and Notes: 


BULLPEN IMPLOSION:

The Mets bullpen took away any chance the team might have had for a comeback Thursday by giving up eight runs in four innings. D.J. Carrasco gave up one run in 1 1/3 innings, Pedro Beato surrendered three runs in 2/3 innings and Manny Acosta yielded four runs in one inning. The Nationals bullpen, meanwhile, did not give up a run in 3 1/3 innings in support of Tom Milone, who won the first game of his career.

UGLY STATS:

The last time the Mets had a worse winning percentage on a homestand of at least six games was Aug. 23-Sept. 2, 2004, when they were 1-10…The Mets are 31-44 at Citi Field…It's the first time the Nationals have swept the Mets since they were in Montreal…The Mets lost the season series to the Nationals, 10-8…Mets were 0-for-11 with runners in scoring positions and 18-of-95 in their last 10 games.
