Mets News and Notes: Reyes, Double Headers, Bullpen, Offense
The Mets are expected to activate Jose Reyes prior to game 2 of today’s doubleheader...Reyes went 2-5 with two singles and a run scored on Saturday for Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League vs. Altoona...Reyes hit .333 (3-9) with three runs scored, one home run and one RBI in three major league rehabilitation games with the BMets...Reyes was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on August 8 with a strained left hamstring.
Today will be the Mets third doubleheader this season...New York was swept in a twinbill at home on April 14 vs. Colorado and the Mets lost both ends of a doubleheader on April 16 at Atlanta...The last time the Mets and Marlins squared off in a doubleheader was July 8, 2006 at Shea, when Florida won game one, 4-3, and the Mets won game two, 17-3, in Mike Pelfrey’s major league debut...The Mets and Marlins have never swept a double dip from each other.
