The Mets caught a brief glimpse of what they've been missing when shortstop Jose Reyes ran the bases Monday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park.
Reyes, who is recovering from a strained left hamstring, is expected to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Binghamton on Thursday.
Collins said the team had yet to determine how many rehab games Reyes would need. But barring any setbacks, it appears he is about a week away from returning from the disabled list.
