Mets Notes: Capuano, Bay, Beltran

  • Chris Capuano awoke with some lingering soreness in his abdomen, but not enough to worry him. He pushed his work schedule back a day, and will test the muscle in a bullpen session on Sunday. With the off-day on Monday, manager Terry Collins could skip Capuano, but still keep the rest of the starters on rotation.
  • Collins hopes to use Jason Bay as his cleanup hitter against lefties.
  • Carlos Beltran will play designated hitter on Sunday. Lucas Duda will start on Saturday, but Collins does not know if he will DH.
