Recap: 2011 Regular Season Game 8 - Nationals vs Mets

Final Score: New York 8, Washington 4 

Carlos Beltran went 2-for-4 with a two-run and solo home run to help the New York Mets take an 8-4 win over the Washington Nationals in the middle game of a three-game set.

Ike Davis hit a two-run triple in the sixth and Jose Reyes added a two-run double in the ninth for the Mets, who snapped a three-game slide. Chris Capuano (1-0) worked six innings of four-run ball, giving up seven hits with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Danny Espinosa hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning while Ian Desmond added a solo shot for the Nationals, who had won their previous two. Tom Gorzelanny (0-1) was tagged for six runs -- five earned -- on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.
