Recap: 2011 Regular Season Game 15 - Mets at Braves (Game 2 DH)
Jair Jurrjens allowed two hits over seven shutout innings in his 2011 debut, and the Atlanta Braves blanked the Mets, 4-0, to complete a doubleheader sweep and send New York to its seventh straight defeat.
In the opener, Alex Gonzalez hit two of Atlanta's four solo home runs to help the Braves take a 4-2 win.
Jurrjens (1-0), who had been out with a right oblique strain, walked one batter and struck out four. He moved to 8-2 lifetime against the Mets. George Sherrill and Scott Linebrink combined for five strikeouts over the final two innings to complete the two-hit gem.
Eric Hinske had three hits and an RBI.
Mike Pelfrey (0-2) surrendered 11 hits and four runs over five-plus innings for the Mets, who are mired in their longest slide since dropping 11 in a row during the 2004 season.
Friday night's rainout caused the Mets to play back-to-back doubleheaders for the first time since August 20-21, 1998, against St. Louis. They were swept in a twinbill by Colorado on Thursday.
