Parnell has blood clot , not aneurysm

Bobby Parnell
The Mets finally got at least a little bit of good news yesterday, when they learned that Bobby Parnell's numbness in his right middle finger was not caused by an aneurysm.

The right-hander had an angiogram that showed what doctors had suspected on Wednesday, that a blood clot likely was the reason for the injury that landed Parnell on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Wednesday, to make room for Jason Bay.

"It's as positive as we could have hoped for," general manager Sandy Alderson said before the Mets 9-1 victory over the Astros last night at Citi Field.
