Mets Injury Notes: Pagan , Izzy, Beltran

Jason Isringhausen.

Izzy played catch today with pitching coach Dan Warthen (the only man in camp who might have more damage in his throwing elbow). Isringhausen reported no problems with his right elbow. He had been shut down due to inflammation in the joint these past few days.

Isringhausen plans to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, take Thursday off and return to Grapefruit League action on Friday.

Meanwhile, Carlos Beltran is playing DH in a pair of minor-league games at Digital Domain Park today. He will use a designated runner.

New York Mets center fielder Angel Pagan left Tuesday's game in the second inning with lower back tightness.

With Willie Harris serving as the designated hitter, manager Terry Collins elected to use Jason Bay in center field. Bay has made 37 major league starts in center but none since 2005 when he was a Pittsburgh Pirate.

Lucas Duda replaced Pagan in the lineup.
