Recap: Spring Training Game 4 - Wash vs. Mets

Final Score: Washington 9, NY Mets 3

Michael Morse hit a pair of two-run homers to lift the Washington Nationals over the New York Mets, 9-3.

Roger Bernadina, Jeff Frazier, Matt Stairs, Kevin Barker and Jerry Hairston Jr. each drove in a run for the Nationals.

Chad Gaudin went three innings in the start, allowing two runs on five hits. Craig Stammen got the win after giving up one run on three hits over two frames.

Angel Pagan hit a solo homer for the Mets. Ruben Tejada had two RBI.

Mike Pelfrey allowed two runs -- one earned -- on five hits over a three- inning start. D.J. Carrasco got the loss after giving up two runs on four hits over two frames.

Whats not in the boxscore:

Daniel Murphy played 3B and played it nicely. Murphy is competing for the 2B Job and his value is increasing to the Mets. Murphy shows how versatile he can be on this team as a utility if he does not start at 2B .

On the other hand, Luis Castillo muffed a high chopper, wonder how Murphy or Emaus would have played it.
Hopefully we will see.
